GONNA BUY ME A

We are stoked that another builder asked Old Anvil to give his Mercury the lead sled make-over.  We gave this Merc the full lowered chassis on coilovers. We touched almost every piece of sheet metal, chopped the top 3-inches, frenched the headlights, modified a Camaro bumper for the grill and a ton of other Kustom Kulture tricks of the trade.

This car will go back to the owner in bare metal so he can finish his dream car with his own touches.

Mercury

The "Merc" (49-51) is possibly the most iconic car of the kustom world. The post war Mercury Eight Coupes featured a revamped motor and a body begging to be chopped.  Sam Barris and/or Gil Ayala are credited with first chopping a "merc" which became the blueprint for "lead sleds" throughout the 50's. The Hirohata Merc done by Barris eventually becoming the most famous of all of them.
